Heinz Otz
EDUCATION
Ph.D., University of
Bern, Department of Geography, Switzerland, November 1969.
Bachelor of Science,
University of Bern,
Switzerland, March 1961.

Heinz K. Otz concluded
studies in mathematics, physics and zoology at the University of Bern.
Additional courses in geology, geography and limnology supported his main
studies. From 1965 to 1969 he fulfilled the Ph.D. requirements to become a
hydrologist under supervision of Prof. Dr. Gygax and Dr. Nydegger. During
is PH.D. Heinz K. Otz developed most of the dye-tracing methods which are
used now in Europe on a regular basis. During the following years his
research focussed in increasing the sensitivity of spectro-fluorometers
which helped significantly reduce dye injection amounts. His ability to
become a professional consultant started in 1969 when Heinz K. Otz founded
Otzhydro and worked together with Prof. Dr. Rutsch, one of the most renown
Swiss Quaternary geologist. Almost 35 years later Heinz K. Otz, the
principal hydrologist of Otzhydro, has successfully implemented the
dye-tracing techniques to serve clients worldwide.
