 | Services: Our
laboratory is specialized in dye-tracing worldwide and in different
hydrogeologic settings such as in Karst, unconsolidated and bedrock
aquifers, and more recently, in contaminant settings as well.
Otzhydro has conducted more than 2500 different dye-tracing tests,
1000 of which we have used more than four tracers simultaneously.
All instrumentation can be provided and installed by Otzhydro personnel. |
|
 | Dye injection: Depending
on the hydrogeologic settings and customer needs the injection of
dyes can be difficult and may be done using our services. |
 | Fluorescent dyes can be detected over
several kilometers and be observed for several months if needed. |
|
 | Tracer laboratory:
The tracer laboratory, located in Switzerland, is with its
eight state-of-the-art instrumentation one of the most modern
fluorescence detection laboratory worldwide. |
|
 | Analysis: Otzhydro
follows stringent QA/QC protocols and analyzes samples within 48
hours of receipt. The analysis procedure follows the Swiss national
recommendations (go to References). |
|
 | Discharge measurements:
Discharge of rivers up to 1000 m3/s can be determined
using level gauges with dataloggers for continuing discharge
measurements. Discharge quantifications are either done mechanically
(flow meters) or by salt or dye dilution experiments. |
|
 | Evaporation estimations
and precipitation quantification can be quantified either on
land (lysimeter) or on open-water surfaces. |
|
 | Lake current determinations:
We are able to precisely determine lake currents (using
theodolite or GPS technology) at different depths using either sails
attached to floating devices or dye-tracing dilutions. |
|
 | Temperature and
conductivity profiles may be used as additional technique to
support the findings. |
